Marble Madness Game History
Upon it's release, Marble Madness was the perfect opportunity for the makers Atari to show off their new arcade hardware. It was the first game to use rendered 3D graphics, as well as true stereo sound. The inclusion of stereo sound introduced a new element into video gaming, and that was the effect music could have on the gamer.
The History of Marble Madness
Released in December 1984, published and developed by Atari Inc. The game was a single or two player game of the platform/racing genre. Marble Madness was the first game to be programmed by a young Czech programmer by the name of Mark Cerny. Cerny won a game designing competition that Atari were running at the time, and the rest is history.
The main objective of the game is to be the first player to cross the finish line with their marble. Sounds simple right? But along the way the player has to negotiate their way around high, narrow paths, and avoiding numerous obstacles to be the first across the finish.
There are six levels of increasing difficulty in total, these are as follow;
Practice
Beginner
Intermediate
Aerial
Silly
Ultimate
